Ferris announces new mowers

The new Ferris 400S features an independent, large rear progressive coil-over-shock suspension that can be combined with performance features such as a large 48-inch mower deck, 20-inch drive tires and 10-inch caster tires. The mower features a solid rod cable-less drive mechanism and 1-inch aluminum spindles, with greaseable commercial oversized double-row bearings, making the 400S a workhorse that increases control to deliver a quality cut time and again.

“In addition to the new 400S, we have improved the popular IS 600Z mower to increase performance and operator comfort, while maintaining the superior cut quality that commercial landscapers demand from Ferris,” said Roche.

The IS 600Z now features an expanded mowing deck of 52 inches and a Hydro-Gear ZT-3200 axle to carry heavy loads. The seat has also been updated for comfort and support.

Ferris also unveiled its latest stand-on mower: the Soft Ride Stand-on (SRS)  Z3X.

“The Z3X is a high-performance mower commercial landscapers have come to expect from Ferris, and hits on all cylinders: power, productivity and durability,” Roche said. “Operators will achieve a higher quality of cut because the mower deck is tied to a pivoting front axle and four radius rods, ensuring the mower deck follows ground contours.”

Roche also noted new suspension technology on the mower, with an adjustable spring. Operators essentially adjust the tension on the spring for their comfort.

The mower is available with Vanguard Oil Guard, a technology exclusive to Ferris products. Features include a fabricated steel bumper and a 5.5-gallon fuel tank.
